Individual
Coaching
Incorporating a holistic approach to coaching will help you achieve the right mindset when taking shots and while on the golf course.
The philosophy of the holistic approach to golf coaching is underpinned in three dimensions:
- Ensure your fundamentals are sound – You will be coached on attaining a good grip, posture, ball position, body alignment, and weight distribution. These are key skills to ensure you start off well.
- Analysis of your body action - This controls the face angle, angle of attack, swing path, swing speed, forces created , and strike with the ball.
- Course management and composure – By instructing you on correct club selection, dealing with bad holes and making better decisions, you will improve your course management while being able to remain calm, by introducing a set shot routine that you can rely on under pressure.
Junior pathway Academy
Introducing children to golf is a major part of the service. Steve Priest runs his own comprehensive Junior program which has been built with over 20 years of experience coaching children. All the facilities are Golf Roots centres which are linked through the Golf Foundation & Wales Golf. There are several visits made to local primary and secondary schools in the area which spread the exposure of the game further afield.
For the established junior golfer, Steve Priest can organise advanced coaching on all areas of the game; from technical skills to mental skills, he helps support you in all areas of your overall development. We are also involved in the organisation and running of junior tournaments and actively try to help our junior sections.

Junior Coaching Starts from Ages 4+
Golf is a great way for children to have fun and learn some very valuable life skills which will help them on their journey. As a PGA Professional Steve is CRB-checked and have attended Child Protection and Safeguard courses. I have set up a pathway for juniors which allows them to go right through to the golf course or right through until they are 18. This also enables them to play competitive golf or join a golf club.
Junior Pathway
Beginner:
Short burst Fun game based learning, with basic fundamentals introduced on all areas of the game. Fun coordination and movement activities introduced (from aged 4 upwards)
Intermediate:
Continuation of fun game based skill learning, improving concentration, coordination and movement, fundamental & technical improvements, introduction to the golf course and the rules of golf with fun games.
Elite:
Alternate week golf course practice with different formats introduced, movement drills all geared to improve stability, strength and speed, more advanced technical understanding to give them the tools for life. Mentoring available to help the children with their life skill development.
Junior Individual Programme:
For those who wish to be more intensive about their game. This programme can run alongside the existing group coaching as an added extra, or you may prefer your child just to get 1 to 1 tuition to help them improve. The 4 main packages are available:
Bronze Package: 5 for 4 on 20 minute lessons £80
Silver Package: 4 for 3 on 1 hour lessons £150
Gold Package: 7 hours £230
Platinum Package: 4 x 1 hours a month, £100 per month, minimum of 3 months.
Coaching will focus on shaping your child’s technical, mental, physical skills and improving their course management, which will show in their game.
If you are interested in booking your child on to one of these programmes please contact me.
Adult Beginner Coaching NEW2GOLF
The adult beginner group coaching is organised through the New2Golf scheme
in association with Wales Golf (www.walesgolf.org). If you’re a beginner, it’s an affordable way to try golf and you have the opportunity to work through the pathway Steve created to potentially becoming a golf member.
Group Coaching
Improve your game with friends, family or even work colleagues in a cost-effective way. This is one way of having regular coaching and paying less than you would for an individual lesson. Group coaching is organised throughout the year for different levels of player and different themes.
Physical (Body)
I am TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Level 2 qualified for Golf & Juniors. I am able to perform a Level 1 screen which include 16 assessments of your body to help you understand what physical limitations will affect your swing, but help us understand what is better for you to work on to avoid injury and swing your own swing.
